Founder’s Story

Graeme M. Crawford FRAeS

Graeme Crawford, the founder of Luamair Business Consultants, brings over four decades of diverse experience across the public and private sectors. With a career spanning more than 41 years in industry and 24 years in business leadership, Graeme has built a reputation for resilience, strategic thinking and a deep commitment to organisational excellence.

 

Graeme began his professional journey in engineering and quickly rose through the ranks to hold several senior executive positions in leading global organisations. His extensive experience includes serving as the Acting Director of Aviation Safety (DAS)/CEO for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in Australia, where he was recognised for his leadership in regulatory reform and for guiding the aviation industry through significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Throughout his career, Graeme has been a key representative at governmental meetings and international forums, including Senate Estimates, the Australian Aviation Policy Group, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and various DGCA meetings. His ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and negotiate comprehensive maintenance agreements and enterprise bargaining agreements has made him a seasoned negotiator and a trusted advisor to industry stakeholders.

 

Graeme's passion for business transformation is evident in his track record of successfully growing, resizing and transforming organisations in highly competitive global markets. As a champion of connected leadership, he has demonstrated a unique ability to motivate and mobilize teams across multiple continents, driving change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Recognised by peers and industry leaders alike, Graeme's commitment to excellence has earned him numerous accolades, including recognition from the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, the CEO of Qantas  and the President of Goodrich Aerospace Component Maintenance Division. His leadership and dedication were also acknowledged by HRH Queen Elizabeth II with an award for export achievement on behalf of GE Caledonian.
